Stub is a dating app built around real plans. One person hosts a coffee, a meal or drinks at a public place. The other chooses the plans worth going on. Then they meet.
Why Stub exists
Apps made it easy to match with people and strangely hard to actually meet them.
Most matches never meet.
Dating apps reward endless swiping and chatting. The conversation becomes the product, and the date never happens.
The effort lands unevenly.
Women carry the safety risk and the work of filtering. Men carry the cost of planning and often get ghosted.
The awkward parts come first.
“Who pays?” and “where do we go?” get argued over before two people have even said hello.
So we started with the plan. The person is the stub underneath.
A stub is the part of a ticket you keep, proof you went. The place, the time and what’s covered come first. That’s the whole idea: fewer conversations that go nowhere, more evenings that actually happen.
What we promise
These aren’t settings you can switch off. They’re how Stub works, for everyone.
Every date is in public.
Cafés, restaurants and bars. Never homes or hotel rooms, and a plan can’t be moved somewhere private.
The host covers the date.
What’s covered is written on the plan before anyone says yes. A guest never pays for the date.
Nobody is ever paid to show up.
No cash, no credit you can withdraw. Perks are venue items or extra date passes, nothing more.
Everyone is selfie-checked.
A live selfie that matches their photos, before they can post a plan or send interest.
Records are earned, not written.
“Showed up X of Y” comes from real check-ins at the venue, not from what someone says about themselves.
Your data stays yours.
We collect what the app needs, never sell it, and delete it when you ask. Our grievance officer acknowledges every complaint within 24 hours.
