Draft for legal review. Last updated 25 October 2026.
Delete your account
You can delete your Stub account at any time, in the app or by email. If you only need a break, you can pause instead: your profile is hidden from the feed and nothing is deleted.
Delete in the app
- Open Stub and go to Profile.
- Tap Settings, then Pause or delete.
- Choose Delete. You can download your data first if you’d like a copy.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Delete by email
If you can’t use the app, email grievance@getstub.in with the subject “Delete my Stub account” and include the phone number registered to your account. We may send a one-time code to that number to confirm it’s you. We’ll acknowledge your request within 24 hours.
What happens next
- Your profile is hidden from everyone straight away.
- Interests you’ve sent are withdrawn.
- Upcoming plans are cancelled under the usual cancellation rules, so a late cancellation may cost a date pass or a late fee.
- Deletion is completed within 30 days. After that, your account can’t be recovered.
- Subscriptions are billed by Google Play, so cancel them there too. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a Google Play subscription on its own.
What’s deleted and what’s kept
We delete your personal data, except what we must keep for safety, tax or legal reasons:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Profile, photos and prompts | Deleted within 30 days |
| Verification selfie | Already deleted 30 days after it was taken |
| Chat messages | Deleted 180 days after the plan, unless part of a report |
| Check-in records (distance only, no GPS) | Kept for 1 year from the date, then deleted |
| SOS location | Kept for 90 days, unless a safety case needs it |
| Payment records | Kept for 8 years for tax and accounting, no longer linked to your profile |
| Reports and enforcement records | Kept for 3 years; bans are kept to enforce them |
| Face reference of a banned account | Kept to stop the account being made again |
| Analytics | Your pseudonymous analytics profile is deleted |
