Draft for legal review. Last updated 25 October 2026.
Community guidelines
Stub works when both people can trust the plan and each other. These guidelines apply to everything on Stub: profiles, plans, notes, chat and the date itself. They’re part of our terms of service.
On this page
Be real
- Use your real first name and age, and recent photos that clearly show you. Your first photo must show only you.
- No group photos first, no sunglasses-only shots, no photos of children, and nothing explicit or suggestive.
- Don’t impersonate anyone or make more than one account.
Keep it public
- Dates happen at the public venue on the plan. Never suggest moving to a home, a hotel room or anywhere private.
- Don’t try to change the venue in chat. A different place means cancelling and posting a new plan.
- Don’t share phone numbers, social handles or links before the date. Repeated attempts are held for review.
Turn up, and cover what you promised
- Sending interest means you’ll go if picked. Picking someone means you’ll be there.
- If you can’t make it, cancel as early as you can. Up to 24 hours before is free.
- Hosts: cover exactly what the ticket says. Guests are asked afterwards whether everything was covered as promised.
- Check in when you arrive, so the other person and the venue know you came.
Be respectful
- No harassment, threats, stalking, hate speech or pressure of any kind, before, during or after a date.
- No unwanted sexual comments or advances. A no is a no, and leaving is always allowed.
- Don’t contact someone outside Stub after they’ve blocked you or said they’re not interested.
Hosted, never bought
- The host covers the date. That’s all. Nobody owes anyone anything for a coffee or a meal.
- Never ask for, offer or accept money, gifts or favours, and never use Stub to arrange paid companionship or sexual services.
- No selling, promotion or recruiting.
Zero tolerance
These lead to an immediate ban and, where the law requires, a report to the police:
- anyone under 18 on Stub, or any sexual content involving a minor;
- child sexual abuse or exploitation in any form;
- sharing intimate images of someone without their consent;
- violence, assault or threats of it.
Suspected child sexual abuse material is removed, kept securely for the authorities and reported through India’s national cybercrime reporting portal. It is never shared further.
What happens when rules are broken
| What happened (in 60 days) | What we do |
|---|---|
| 1 no-show | A warning |
| 2 no-shows | 14-day suspension |
| 3 no-shows | Account review, likely a ban |
| 3 late cancellations (beyond the free one every 90 days) | A warning, then a 7-day suspension |
| 2 confirmed cases of not covering what was promised | 30-day suspension; a third means a ban |
| Any confirmed safety report | Immediate suspension while we review |
We also remove content that breaks these guidelines. Complaints about intimate images or impersonation are acted on within 24 hours.
How to report
Tap Report on any profile, chat or plan. The person disappears for you straight away. Safety reports are reviewed within 2 hours during our on-call hours (9:00 am to 1:00 am); other reports within 24 hours. Your identity isn’t shared with the person you report.
In an emergency, call 112. You can also write to grievance@getstub.in.
